Aviation-college costs: how they work, and how to correct or remove a listing
The short version is on every program page and in the site footer. This is the full version: what the numbers are, where each figure comes from, and the simple path to fix or remove a listing.
What these numbers are
For each program we list the school's own published figures: tuition, room & board, and whole-program flight fees. We do not model or invent these numbers. Each one is taken from the school's website and shown with the academic year and a link to the source.
PilotBound's only addition is the arithmetic: we sum the components into an all-in planning estimate (tuition and room & board over the program length, plus the whole-program flight total). That all-in figure is our estimate of the total, not the school's quoted package, and a real student's cost will differ with residency, housing choice, pace, and the years they take.
Where a school does not publish a number for every rating or fee, we say so on the figure (for example a "Partial" flag on flight fees) rather than guess. Several figures are sums or per-credit calculations, and each of those carries a short note showing exactly how we derived it from the school's published page.
Where each figure comes from
Every tuition, room & board, and flight figure links to the school's own page and shows the year we read it. When a figure is a sum (for example tuition plus mandatory fees, or a per-credit rate times a full-year credit load), the note under it shows the components so the number is traceable to the source.
Flight fees are billed separately from tuition, on top of it, and are the single most-missed cost in a degree program. We list the school's published whole-program flight total where it exists, and flag it when the school prices only part of the sequence.
Not affiliated with the schools
PilotBound is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any college or university listed in this directory. School names are used only to identify the program. We do not use school logos or brand styling on these neutral listings.
A listing is not a recommendation or a ranking of quality. It is a sourced cost reference plus our all-in estimate. The airline hour reduction we cite (1,000 or 1,250 hours instead of 1,500) comes from the FAA's restricted-ATP rule for qualifying degrees under 14 CFR 61.160, not from the school.
Corrections and removals
Accuracy is the whole point, so we make it easy to fix. Every program's page has a "Correct or remove this listing" link that opens an email to us, pre-filled. Send a correction with a link to the school's own page and we review it before it goes live.
If you represent a school and would rather not be listed at all, use the "Request removal" option on the program's page (it emails us) or write to us directly, and we will take the listing down promptly. No explanation required.
