Flight training at Air Trek North

No aircraft rate. Air Trek North publishes a $105/hr instructor rate and nothing for the airplanes, so there is no total on this page. The airplane is the biggest line on a training bill.

What Air Trek North publishes

Checked August 20, 2026 · Source

Flight instruction: $105/hr

Instruction is $105/hr, or $125/hr with the chief flight instructor. Air Trek states its prices are wet with fuel but without state and local taxes, and says outright that it charges NO fuel surcharge. A VIP club costs $595 to join plus $150/mo for a year minimum and requires a Private certificate.

What to ask when you call

The marked ones are what Air Trek North's site never answers. The rest are what turns an hourly rate into a real bill.

  1. What is the hourly rate on your cheapest trainer, and which airplane is that?Missing from their site

This is the number that is missing from the site, and it is the largest line on your bill.

  2. Is that rate wet or dry, meaning does it include fuel?Missing from their site

A dry rate and a wet rate are not comparable. Dry rates can run $40 to $60 an hour lower for the same airplane.

  3. What does each aeroplane cost per hour now?Missing from their site

The current rates page prices instruction and the club and no aeroplane. The only aircraft prices on the site are on pages the school has itself marked discontinued.

  4. Is the block-rate programme really gone, or is there a current equivalent?

The page that carried the block rates is now named 'plane-rental-with-block-rates-discontinued', and the club appears to have replaced it.

  5. Do you offer block rates or prepay discounts, and what is the refund policy if I stop partway?

Block discounts are common and rarely published. The refund terms matter more than the discount.

  6. What do you charge for the written test, the checkride, and the examiner's fee?

The DPE fee alone runs $800 to $1,200 in most of the country and is almost never in a quoted hourly rate.

  7. How many trainers and how many full-time instructors do you have right now?

Availability decides your pace, and pace decides your total more than the hourly rate does.

What we checked

A WARNING ABOUT STALE PAGES, and the clearest example this project has found. Air Trek's CURRENT rates page carries instruction dated May 2025 and the club fees, and no aeroplane price at all. Its aircraft rates survive only at 'plane-rental-with-block-rates-discontinued.html' and '2018-19-rates.html', the latter still headed 'Instructor Rates (eff Nov '16)'. Any automated pass that finds a number on this domain will most likely find a nine-year-old one. Air Trek also runs accelerated courses through CFII and a Part 141 programme.
