Knoxville Flight Training prices every single-engine aircraft at $185/hr and adds an unquantified fuel surcharge on top. An instructor is required to rent, and solo rental of the Seminole is prohibited. The Seminole's $410/hr is the airplane alone: the school says instructor and fuel charges may apply on top. A full-motion simulator is $150/hr including the instructor, plus tax, and a multi-engine prepay is $5,990. Instruction in a customer's own aircraft is $85/hr, which does not apply to this fleet.

What is the cheapest flight school in Knoxville?
The CAVU Pilot in Knoxville publishes the lowest trainer rental of the 3 Knoxville schools listed here, $145 per hour for its Cessna 150, a wet rate, so fuel is included in the hourly figure, checked August 20, 2026. The lowest hourly rate is not automatically the lowest total: instructor rates, fuel basis, and the hours you actually fly decide that, which is what the per-school estimates on this page hold constant.
How current are these Knoxville flight school rates?
Every rate here is the school's own published figure, linked to its source and dated; the newest check in Knoxville is September 16, 2026, and each card and school page shows the exact date its rates were read. The directory is re-checked on a monthly cycle. A school can correct or remove its listing anytime.
Which Knoxville airports have flight schools?
2 fields carry the listed schools: Knoxville Downtown Island Airport (DKX) with 2, and Center Field (93TN) with one. A school that does not state its field on the pages we read is counted in Knoxville without one.

Estimates use the same method as every Tennessee school page: PilotBound's own completion-hours model times each school's published rates, plus the one-time fees most quotes leave out. They are ours, not the schools' quotes, and we are not affiliated with the schools. How these estimates work·Disclaimer & removal policy
