Flight training at Sundance Flight Academy

The aeroplane is published at $175/hr with a one-hour minimum, and the site does not say whether fuel is included. An FMX Redbird simulator is $50/hr. AOPA lists this operator under the AIRPORT's name, Sundance Airport LLC; the flight school trades as Sundance Flight Academy and shares the site.

   This is the number that is missing from the site. Ground is often billed separately and at a different rate.

   Plenty of schools charge more for advanced instruction. A flat rate quoted for the Private can climb later.

   Block discounts are common and rarely published. The refund terms matter more than the discount.

   The DPE fee alone runs $800 to $1,200 in most of the country and is almost never in a quoted hourly rate.

   Availability decides your pace, and pace decides your total more than the hourly rate does.

What to compare their answer against

Not Sundance's rates. Oklahoma has too few published rate cards for a state median, so this is all 458 schools we track, to hold your phone quote against.

What we checked

Served over plain HTTP with an EXPIRED certificate, so anything insisting on valid TLS sees this school as dead. Stored with an http:// address for that reason. Alto Flight Academy operates from the same field under a different AOPA row. The site also asks crawlers for a ten second gap between requests, which is honoured. Re-checked August 18, 2026: the aeroplane and simulator rates are unchanged and the instructor rate is still absent, and the rate page is a numbered node rather than a named path, which is why probing common rate paths finds nothing here.
