Flight training at Pegasus Flight School

Every tail is priced wet in a rate sheet stamped UPDATED NOVEMBER 2024, which is the only place the school publishes a figure. Treat the age as the main risk here. The cheapest aeroplane is marked time building only and is not a trainer.

   What do you charge per hour for flight instruction, and is ground instruction billed at the same rate?Missing from their site

   This is the number that is missing from the site. Ground is often billed separately and at a different rate.

   Does the instructor rate change for the Instrument, Commercial, or CFI, or is it flat across everything?Missing from their site

   Plenty of schools charge more for advanced instruction. A flat rate quoted for the Private can climb later.

   What does instruction cost per hour, and is the November 2024 rate sheet still current?Missing from their site

   The aeroplanes are priced in a PDF that has not been re-dated since November 2024, and no instruction rate appears anywhere on the site.

   Do you offer block rates or prepay discounts, and what is the refund policy if I stop partway?

   Block discounts are common and rarely published. The refund terms matter more than the discount.

   What do you charge for the written test, the checkride, and the examiner's fee?

   The DPE fee alone runs $800 to $1,200 in most of the country and is almost never in a quoted hourly rate.

   How many trainers and how many full-time instructors do you have right now?

   Availability decides your pace, and pace decides your total more than the hourly rate does.

What we checked

A WET RATE SHEET WITH TAIL NUMBERS, and nearly two years old at this check. A crawl scores the site as a full rate card because its shop sells a T-SHIRT at $25, which lands in the instructor bucket; the same shop still lists a Fall 2024 ground school, which is a second sign the site is not being kept current. The Cessna 150 is marked time building only, so it is priced but is not the trainer.
