   A dry rate and a wet rate are not comparable. Dry rates can run $40 to $60 an hour lower for the same airplane.

   Every course page quotes the instruction rate and then says "plus Airplane Rental per Hour" without ever printing that rental rate.

   The site prices multi-engine instruction but never names or prices a twin.

   Do you offer block rates or prepay discounts, and what is the refund policy if I stop partway?

   Block discounts are common and rarely published. The refund terms matter more than the discount.

   What do you charge for the written test, the checkride, and the examiner's fee?

   The DPE fee alone runs $800 to $1,200 in most of the country and is almost never in a quoted hourly rate.

   Availability decides your pace, and pace decides your total more than the hourly rate does.

What we checked

THE INVERSE OF THE USUAL VIRGINIA FAILURE, and worth reading carefully before re-crawling. Norfolk Flight Center publishes a complete per-certificate INSTRUCTION ladder across five course pages, Private through ATP with a separate multi-engine tier, and it never once publishes what the aeroplane costs. Every page ends the same way: the instruction rate "plus Airplane Rental per Hour". A crawl scores this as a likely full rate card because it reads those instruction figures as aircraft rates.
